It says my IP address is already downloading a file, which I am not. Also the IP address that rapidshare says is my IP add is different from my actual IP address (I saw it on cmd) what shall I do to fix this?

Chosen Answer:

The IP address which you see when you type ipconfig command, is your internal IP address assigned by router, not by ISP. The IP address which was provided by ISP is used by router to connect to internet. Everytime a new computer connects to your router or to build in network, it assigns it a new internal IP address, so that it can identify each computer sending data by internal IP and to make communication flow easy and secure.

When browsing or download internet, data is first sent from computer to router using internal IP, and then router uses actual IP provided by ISP to pass the data to internet. So internet only knows your actual IP, it doesn’t know your internal IP address.

So may be if you have wireless network, someone from neighbouring area is connected to your wireless network, and is using Rapidshare to download, and thus your actual IP provided by ISP is used, and that’s the problem you are having for downloading. Your internal IP may look like something similar to this 192.168.*.* .

Let (contact) me know if you want to secure your wireless network.

If you want to know your actual IP then you can check these addresses:
